And Condé Nast settles its unpaid internship lawsuit.
Kate Middleton’s Latest Marilyn Moment: As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down in New Zealand for their three-week royal tour on Saturday, Kate Middleton nearly experienced another Marilyn Monroe momentwhile descending from the couple's airplane. Luckily, the Duchess was able to tame her red Catherine Walker dresscoat (which resembled the outfit Princess Diana wore thirty years earlier) with one hand as she carried Prince George with the other. The first piece of jewelry borrowed from the Queen’s collection was also visible—a diamond brooch of New Zealand’s national symbol that was gifted to Elizabeth in 1953. [Racked]

Condé Nast Settles Unpaid Internship Suit: A settlement has finally been reached in the widely publicized “unpaid intern” lawsuit between international publishing house Condé Nast and two of its former interns. “We are, and have always been, extremely proud of the internship experiences that were offered at Condé Nast,” the company's chief executive officer, Charles Townsend, said Friday. “Our internships were considered some of the best in the industry, providing students with unparalleled learning opportunities outside of the classroom. The training and contacts our interns received at Condé Nast helped many begin successful careers here and elsewhere.” Five months after the lawsuit was filed, the company terminated its unpaid internship program. Now that the case is settled, the future status of the program is still uncertain. [WWD]
Celebrities Receive Payment to Attend Coachella: Fashion brands are beginning to utilize celebrities who regularly attend the now two-week long California music festival Coachella as a publicity opportunity. Actresses Lea Michele and Vanessa Hudgens, who have been spotted numerous times at the festival, are reportedly receiving between $15-20,000 by Lacoste and McDonalds respectively. Other stars are seemingly vying for similar opportunities: Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul is reportedly seeking a $15,000 endorsement and two V.I.P. passes, while Kate Bosworth is looking for $30,000, and Joe Jonas is aiming for $20,000.
